HOOVER, AL (July 5, 2026) -
Mary Miller claimed the 2026 Women's North & South Amateur in 19 holes, defeating 2022 Champion, Emilia Doran. Having built a 4 up lead with the match dormie, Doran fought back to take the match to extra holes. Miller nearly made birdie on the first hole of Pinehurst No. 2 and was forced to watch as Doran had a 4 foot putt to extend the match. A harsh lip out gave Miller the Putter Boy Trophy and her largest win to date.
Coming into this week, Miller, a sophomore at Ole Miss has finished as the runner-up in three of her last five events, which includes the SEC Championship and the Southwestern Amateur.
“I know I’m capable, but I haven’t been able to close out the last few,” she said. “It’s been tough being second, but it just shows how tough it actually is to win. I’m very grateful to finally get it done this week.”
